FIGHTING THE INDEPENDENT FIGHT

Redefine Magazine is a relatively new publication which started in May 2004. E-mail us to find out where you can get a copy.

We're not looking to cover most popular musicians or artists - what we are looking for is passionate people who are good at what they do and love doing it. We want to showcase and recognize those who push the limits of reality and come to their own conclusions through experimentation and experience. If this is you, prove it to us. Mail us an album. Send us a photo. Show us your talent, and if we agree, we'll help the world recognize it.

THE AIM IS TO INSPIRE, SO PREPARE YOURSELF.

PS - We don't sugarcoat shit. Believe it or not, there is virtue in being honest, however that may be.

WRITING SUBMISSIONS
We welcome submissions from any writers, and we try to publish as much as we can. The best work we put into the print version, and other articles are often posted online.

Keep in mind: We are NOT a literary magazine. The only literary work we publish must have to do with the color theme of that particular issue.

We more welcome articles about music, art, and society in general. Reviewers and interviewers are always needed, so if this is something you would like to do, contact us.

As we are a magazine that is just starting up, we do not offer pay to our contributors. All of our artists, writers, and photographers submit work out of pure enjoyment for the publication or for experience. Don't be fooled, though. We are working things out and aspire to go places, so if you stay with us, you could be going somewhere with us. We respect and ask for the faithful and the responsible.

NEXT ISSUE
THEME: POWER
COLOR: YELLOW
DEADLINE: JUNE 8TH, 2005

Send submissions to huav@redefinemag.com! If you're not sure what our requirements are, just poke around the website, and you'll get a pretty good idea of what we do, and about the submissions we would enjoy.

WANT TO HELP OUT BUT HAVE NO WRITING OR ART SKILLS?
We know it's kind of us to think of you unfortunate souls who cannot write worth beans, but you too can still contribute. "Contribute what?" you ask? Here are some solutions to the question:

1) LINK US. Have an empty AIM profile or a forum user profile with a blank space under homepage? Enter http://www.redefinemag.com into that space, and you will look cooler for not only having a website, but for having our website. Wewt.

2) EXCHANGE LINKS WITH US. As any web guru will tell you, link exchanges are good for all parties involved. The more pages that link your webpage, the more hits your webpage will get (not only through other webpages, but through search engines as well). You will also make some nice internet friends, all without having had to use AOL chatrooms. Also, if you're a band or an artist who we write about, linking us will guarantee more hits for us, which will equal more fine music-saavy individuals who will read our articles and conclude, "Hey, this band is pretty awesome after all."

3) JOIN OUR STREET TEAM. If you go to a lot of shows or frequent art galleries, we could use your help. It's simple: we send you stuff, you give it out, and you tell us what you did with it. If you like to promote unknown things and like free stuff, this is your bag. E-mail street@redefinemag.com for more info about this fine venture.

4) GIVE US MONEY. Now, we're not begging, but as any start-up company will tell you, THE SHIT IS HARD. So if you love music, art, or raising social awareness and your pockets are just overflowing with wads of 20 dollar bills, we'd be glad to help lighten your load.

5) WRITE US LETTERS. We like getting mail, be it snail mail or e-mail. So, if you want to just give us some moral support and tell us how well we're doing, write us at letters@redefinemag.com or to the snail mail address at left.

6) PURCHASE A SUBSCRIPTION. What you'll do with this is not only get our fine and dandy print magazine (which by the way is 40x better than the online version), but you will be helping a collective of brothers and sisters out as well.

7) ADD US. Put us on your MySpace friends list (http://www.myspace.com/redefinethis) or join our AudioScrobbler group!

There are of course a whole truckload of other things you could do to help us out, like telling friends or sending out e-mails, but this is just a small list.
