Vivian Hua (華婷婷) is the Editor-in-Chief of REDEFINE magazine as well as a master of globetrotting for free and evading 9-to-5 work schedules. She enjoys observing human idiosyncrasies perhaps more than anything and is a magnet for homeless people (a joy) and bug bites of all types (absolutely terrible). Marshmallows – while not really food – are one of her favorite foods, especially if they are freezered, stale, or fire-toasted. She doesn’t want to space travel, really, which is an unpopular view these days. Her design work, astrological chart, and other crap can be seen at www.inallthings-patterns.net.

tUnE-yArDs’ Merrill Garbus lends her voice to Elephant & Castle in this laid-back jazzy tune, which flies through prismatic landscapes feathered by bursts of light. In this highly digital rendering, balls of red and purple tones expand like nuclei in space, walking the line between hoakily animated and just artistically removed enough from our current...Read...

Mark Powell‘s Portraits Heap Age Upon Age

Often by way of the unrefined medium of ballpoint pen, UK artist Mark Powell turns vintage envelopes into portraits of the elderly. His high-contrast black-and-white images find their strength in wrinkles, as though making some sort of meta-commentary about aging faces upon aging trees.
