peter woodburn
music writer (seattle, wa) . staff member since 2007
Peter is a music fiend. When he isn't spending his time searching for new music, perusing used bins at record stores, going to live shows, playing various instruments very poorly, or listening to music, he'll take the time to sit down and write about music. And when he isn't doing that, he is dabbling in the finer arts of Italian cooking, and the less fine arts of beer-making, wine-making, and eggnog-making (as well as consumption of all three). He was born and raised on punk and hardcore and has fought a battle his entire life to not only listen to the new and readily more palatable indie rock that seems to be all the rage now. He failed in this endeavor and now finds himself immersed in various instrumental post-rock/ambient soundscapes. He has an unhealthy obsession with classic Russian literature, and a very healthy obsession with zombie flicks.
favorite musicians: ISIS, Good Riddance, Bane, Ted Leo and the Rx, The Clash, The Bouncing Souls, Refused, Explosions in the Sky
He has written
51 album reviews,
35 show reviews, and conducted
6 interviews with musicians for REDEFINE. Below are the most recent ones.
