vivian hua
editor-in-chief (portland, or / seattle, wa) since 2004
Vivian is a former Californian and New Jerseyan who relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2001 and will never look back! She started REDEFINE in 2004 as a general interest magazine, but it soon transformed to fill a niche of covering lesser-known musicians and artists. Her interests include writing and all things music and art-related, of course, but also traveling every and any chance she gets, taking photos of crappy old buildings and things that are falling apart, doing miscellaneous social experiments, wandering aimlessly, and talking to any and all strangers who want to chat (the stranger, the better).
favorite musicians: Well, they're changing all the time, anyway, but... Neon Blonde, The Valley Arena, Hail Social, Nurses, The Beatles, The Helio Sequence, Brand New, Clint Mansell...
favorite artists: Arn Gyssels, Chandra Bocci, Drahomira, Elena Kalis, Michael Michael Motorcycle, Skinner
She has written
102 album reviews,
65 show reviews, and conducted
49 interviews with musicians for REDEFINE. Below are the most recent ones.
