Blinded Black

Under The Sunrise (SideCho Records)

Blinded Black is a recent signing by The Militia Group imprint, SideCho Records. Their newest record, Under The Sunrise, is "punk rock" in the vein of Story Of The Year or Senses Fail. In all honesty, the band is nothing new and offers nothing new. I'm really getting tired of saying those words, but it seems to be commonplace for many bands these days. It is especially true for Blinded Black.

As far as the album artwork goes, it is not the best if you're speaking in terms of technical skill, but everything else about it is spot on. Ignore the pixelation in the top half and the mediocre water in the foreground, and you definitely have a piece of well-composed art. The shadows of winged creatures and chaos in the background are all completely appropriate, and the colors make the cover stand out a well. One would expect a relatively heavy metal band with an album cover like this, but he or she would be wrong. Blinded Black is much poppier and easy to swallow, but, unfortunately, is still pretty boring to listen to.
